Craig Kellman is the award-winning artist behind a vast cast of characters including those from Dreamworks’ blockbusters Madagascar and Hotel Transylvania, as well as Sony’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
Professor Ted Briscoe is Professor of Computational Linguistics at the Computer Laboratory in the University of Cambridge, where he has been a member of staff since 1989. His broad research interests are computational and theoretical linguistics and automated speech and language processing. He directed and was heavily involved in the teaching of the MPhil in Computer Speech, Text and Internet Technology, taught jointly with the Engineering Department.
Ian Brookes is Mrs Wordsmith’s lexicographer. Ian is the former editor-in-chief of The Chambers Dictionary and has led or contributed to the creation of over 50 dictionaries and reference books from Chambers, HarperCollins, and Oxford University Press. He is also a keen sports fan and has written a book about cricket, Essex CCC On This Day.
As Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director at the Centre for Corpus Research, University of Birmingham, Professor Thompson has extensive experience in the areas of corpus linguistics, building dictionaries and children’s reading development. From June 2002 to May 2004 he worked on a government-funded ERSC project investigating the learning of language at primary school (R000223900). He is also the co-editor of the Journal of English for Academic Purposes.
